About the role
The Royal Women’s Hospital is seeking a Senior Medication Safety Pharmacist on a part‑time (0.2 FTE) fixed‑term basis until August 2027. You will join a dedicated pharmacy team delivering specialised medication management across maternity, neonatal and women’s health services.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage quality‑use‑of‑medicine activities across the hospital.
- Assess and analyse reported medication‑related clinical incidents, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
- Review guidelines, protocols and patients’ medication charts to ensure best‑practice prescribing.
- Participate in clinical activities including ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Implement hospital medication policies and liaise with medical and nursing staff to promote safe medicine use.
- Support training, mentorship and supervision of intern pharmacists and pharmacy students.
Required profile
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong patient‑centred focus.
- Positive, professional attitude aligned with the hospital’s collaborative culture.
Required skills
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) with full AHPRA registration.
- Post‑graduate qualification or certification in pharmacy‑related discipline.
- Experience in medication safety, clinical pharmacy and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Well‑developed time‑management and organisational abilities.
