Senior Mechanical Engineer – Water Infrastructure

About the role

AECOM is expanding its Water Infrastructure team in Perth following major contract awards across Australia and New Zealand. The senior mechanical engineer will join a multidisciplinary group delivering high‑impact water and wastewater projects for public and private clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review mechanical designs for water treatment plants, desalination facilities, pump stations, pipelines, dams and related infrastructure.
• Provide technical advice, design code compliance checks and approval of engineering deliverables.
• Collaborate with civil, electrical and process engineers to deliver integrated solutions on national and international projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across interstate and international offices.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (essential) and CPEng registration (highly regarded).
• Proven mechanical design experience on water or wastewater projects within a consulting environment.
• Strong understanding of relevant design codes, standards and guidelines.
• Excellent client and stakeholder engagement skills.
