Senior Mechanical Engineer - Pumping & Fluid Management

About the role

A growing Australian engineering and services business delivering pumping, equipment and fluid management solutions for mining, infrastructure, data centres and heavy industry is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Sydney. You will join a pumping and fluid management project delivery team as technical lead, owning projects from concept through to commissioning and working with drafters, fabricators, suppliers, workshop teams and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and specify mechanical equipment packages, including piping, structural skids, valves and auxiliary equipment.
• Review and improve designs for efficiency, constructability and compliance with client requirements.
• Coordinate suppliers, fabricators and internal delivery teams through execution, inspection and handover.
• Provide technical guidance to drafting and support teams.
• Support commissioning and occasional site-based activities.
• Work across multiple projects and help drive consistency in engineering standards and project delivery.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree and a solid understanding of heavy industrial projects.
• Experience with fabricated steel structures, skid packages, piping systems and associated mechanical equipment.
• Exposure to project delivery, whether as a project engineer, mechanical engineer or design engineer.
• Practical problem-solving approach and willingness to engage across the full project lifecycle.
• Experience in mining, industrial processing, EPCM, fabrication, HVAC, chemical processing or related industries is well regarded.
