QA/QC Intern - Quality Assurance & Quality Control

About the role

A professional organisation based in Smithfield, Sydney is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented QA/QC intern for a 12-week, part-time, unpaid internship of three days per week. It suits engineering, manufacturing, food technology, science and quality management students or recent graduates who want hands-on experience in quality control, compliance, inspections, auditing and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with quality assurance and quality control activities
• Support product inspections, testing and quality checks
• Maintain quality records, reports and technical documentation
• Help identify non-conformances and corrective actions
• Support internal audits and compliance procedures
• Collect and analyse quality-related data
• Help maintain quality management systems and take part in continuous improvement initiatives
• Work with operational teams to keep quality standards high

Required profile

• Currently studying or recently graduated in Engineering, Manufacturing, Food Technology, Science, Quality Management or a related field
• Located in Australia with a valid visa allowing internship participation; international students are welcome
• Strong attention to detail, analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
• Good communication and teamwork skills, proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Previous QA/QC experience is an advantage but not essential

Required skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Office skills
• Understanding of quality assurance and compliance principles
• Knowledge of ISO standards is advantageous
