About the role
Join a high‑performing design team at ADE Power where you will not only design precision‑engineered acoustic and modular enclosures but also lead and shape the engineering function across a fast‑moving manufacturing business.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the technical authority for mechanical design, reviewing and approving drawings, calculations and specifications to ensure they are workshop‑ready.
- Mentor graduate engineers and draftspersons, providing feedback, development and direction.
- Lead mechanical design activities across manufacturing, assembly and installation while ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, safe design principles and client specifications.
- Produce and review detailed drawings, calculations and documentation that are accurate, practical and optimised for manufacture.
- Manage design timelines to align engineering outputs with production schedules and resolve technical issues quickly.
- Build standard designs, processes and structured ways of working to improve consistency, reduce rework and support repeatable delivery.
- Conduct design risk assessments, engineering change reviews and root‑cause investigations as required.
- Provide technical input to project managers, clients and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
Required profile
- Credible mechanical engineer with deep design expertise and practical judgement.
- Strong mentoring ability; comfortable developing junior engineers.
- Background in manufacturing or heavy‑industrial environments.
- Progress toward CPEng registration is an advantage.
