Senior Maritime Engineer

About the role

Haskoning Australia is looking for a Senior Maritime Engineer to lead the design and delivery of water‑based infrastructure projects. You will work on ports, harbours, quay walls, jetties and related coastal structures, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance coastal environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop concept and detailed designs for ports, harbours, quay walls, wharves, jetties, dolphins, piles, sheet piles, seawalls and waterfront developments.
• Produce design calculations, review and check the work of other engineers.
• Prepare technical documentation such as Basis of Design, design reports, technical notes and feasibility studies.
• Manage engineering designs using steel, concrete, timber, aluminium and other media.
• Conduct structural inspections and generate inspection reports.
• Create work execution plans, allocate resources and schedule activities to meet project timelines.
• Deliver multiple small‑to‑medium projects on time and within budget, following company systems.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and other team members.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in maritime and coastal engineering.
• Proven ability to manage projects from concept through delivery.
• Strong technical design expertise and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
• Ability to lead teams and mentor less‑experienced engineers.
