Senior Manager, Project Management Office

About the role

The Senior Manager, Project Management Office will establish, lead and continuously improve a divisional PMO that supports the delivery of Corporate Services projects, including physical infrastructure, digital initiatives, business improvement and organisational change.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Corporate Services PMO, ensuring governance, delivery standards, reporting and accountability across the project portfolio.
• Support project planning, prioritisation and approval processes, including business case development and benefits analysis.
• Maintain an integrated portfolio roadmap, providing visibility of schedules, resources, dependencies, risks and decision points.
• Provide strategic advice and reporting to senior executives on portfolio performance, risks and resource allocation.
• Deliver independent oversight and assurance, monitoring performance, financial outcomes and benefits realisation.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualifications in project management, business, IT, construction, engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience establishing and maturing a PMO in a large, complex organisation.
• Strong commercial, financial and strategic acumen with experience overseeing project investment decisions.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with senior executives.
• Full unrestricted Australian work rights and willingness to undergo a criminal history check.

Required skills

• Project governance frameworks and portfolio management practices.
• Formal project, program or portfolio management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP, PMBOK, Agile, SAFe).
• Financial oversight and benefits realisation.
• Use of PMO tools, methodologies, templates and reporting frameworks.
