Research Accountant

About the role

The Research Accountant joins the Research Reporting & Compliance team to prepare and sign off research project financial statements, manage journal entries and budgets, and ensure compliance with research financial reporting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and sign off financial statements for research projects.
• Manage journal preparation, budget updates and project closures.
• Liaise with Chief Investigators and external funding bodies on financial queries.
• Ensure data accuracy and compliance with university procedures and reporting standards.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in accounting.
• Membership of a professionally accredited accounting organisation.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet defined deadlines.
• Strong communication, prioritisation and multitasking abilities.

Required skills

• Journal preparation and processing.
• Budget management and financial statement preparation.
• Knowledge of research financial reporting standards and compliance.

• Salary HEW 6 Step 1 – $94,966.18 plus 17% super (total $111,110.42).
