Senior Manager, Digital Channels Risk & Control

About the role

The Senior Manager, Digital Channels Risk & Control leads the end‑to‑end risk and control environment for ANZ Retail’s digital channels, including the mobile app, internet banking and public web. Reporting to the GM of Digital Strategy & Platforms, this senior leader ensures that digital services remain secure, resilient and aligned with the bank’s risk appetite and regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Own and oversee the risk and control profile for all digital channels, managing operational, regulatory, fraud, resilience and customer risks.
• Establish and maintain control standards that protect customers, ensure operational resilience, support authentication and prevent fraud.
• Drive incident and event management processes, ensuring timely investigation, remediation and closure of control issues.
• Represent Digital Channels in risk governance forums, providing insights on risk posture, control effectiveness and remediation progress.
• Provide oversight and assurance on control performance using data, incidents, audits and risk indicators to identify emerging risks.
• Influence investment, roadmap and prioritisation decisions to embed risk, resilience and regulatory considerations.
• Build strong partnerships across Digital, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Fraud, Operations and Audit to strengthen the control environment.

Required profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience in risk, control or compliance within digital or technology‑focused environments.
• Deep understanding of banking regulations, fraud prevention, operational resilience and customer protection.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven approach to risk management.
• Excellent communication skills to convey risk insights clearly in governance forums.
