Senior Manager – Business Services & Tax

About the role

PAL, a progressive accounting and advisory practice in Geelong, is seeking a Senior Manager to join the leadership team as the Director’s second‑in‑command. You will own a portfolio of small‑business clients, provide strategic tax and advisory guidance, and help shape the firm’s next growth phase.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a group of clients, understanding their businesses and acting as their primary advisor.
• Provide tax planning, structuring, small‑business CGT and estate‑planning advice.
• Oversee workflow, review team deliverables for technical accuracy and timeliness.
• Deliver advisory services such as forecasting, board reports and strategic sessions.
• Coach and mentor junior staff, supporting their professional development.
• Contribute to firm‑wide strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in Australian public practice.
• CA or CPA qualified.
• Strong technical accounting and tax expertise.
• Commercially sharp and able to think like an owner.
• Effective people skills and a desire for greater influence.
• Comfortable leading under pressure and driving team performance.
