Senior Linux/Unix Systems Engineer

About the role

Capgemini is looking for a Senior Linux/Unix Systems Engineer to lead automation and virtualization initiatives across enterprise environments. You will improve operational efficiency, ensure platform stability, and support a hybrid working model.

Key responsibilities

• Automate deployments, configuration updates and reduce manual effort using tools such as Ansible, Puppet and Terraform.
• Execute application and platform changes, releases and service requests across supported environments.
• Perform root‑cause analysis, implement service improvements and collaborate on major incident resolution.
• Maintain adherence to ITIL processes for Incident, Problem and Change Management with proper documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience provisioning and managing UNIX/Linux operating systems (Red Hat, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Solaris, Oracle Linux) in enterprise settings.
• Hands‑on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and KVM.
• Strong background in automation and configuration‑management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform) and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Willingness to be on‑call every second week.

Required skills

• Linux/Unix OS hardening techniques and security tools.
• Support for application servers like WebLogic and JBoss.
• Disk management tools for Solaris/Linux and familiarity with CIS Benchmark standards.
• Relevant Linux or virtualization certifications (highly desirable).
