Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

GHD is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its APAC legal team. You will provide strategic legal support on complex, high‑value infrastructure and engineering projects, working closely with project directors and managers.

Key responsibilities

• Review, negotiate and draft a wide range of commercial contracts, including consultancy, design‑and‑construct, alliancing and professional services agreements for major infrastructure projects.
• Provide legal guidance to technical and operational staff on employment, privacy, intellectual property, commercial disputes and litigation management.
• Partner with Project Directors and Managers to support contract documentation, finalisation and execution.
• Advise on legislative compliance, internal policies and corporate governance matters.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in commercial contracting and negotiation within infrastructure, engineering or construction environments.
• Current unrestricted practising certificate with senior‑level experience.
• Experience across varied procurement models such as design‑and‑construct, alliancing and PPP.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organisational and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of the full lifecycle of major projects, from procurement through delivery and dispute resolution.
• Ability to work in geographically dispersed, multi‑disciplinary teams.
