Senior Lecturer in Public Health and Health Promotion (Work‑Integrated Learning)

About the role

This full‑time, continuing senior lecturer position is based at Deakin University’s Melbourne Burwood Campus with hybrid work arrangements. The role focuses on shaping work‑integrated and experiential learning in public health and health promotion, linking students with industry, community and professional practice.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver innovative curriculum, teaching and assessment that connect students with industry and community partners.
• Lead research and scholarship that advances evidence‑based practice and improves educational and workforce outcomes.
• Develop and mentor emerging academics and practitioners, providing leadership and supervision.
• Build and maintain strategic industry and community partnerships to expand placement and practicum opportunities.
• Enhance student placement experiences through academic leadership and stakeholder relationship management.

Required profile

• Holds a PhD or equivalent qualification, or a combination of relevant experience and education with willingness to undertake a PhD.
• Demonstrated track record in teaching, research and service, including delivery of innovative curriculum and high‑quality student learning experiences.
• Evidence of research impact and scholarly achievement in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in work‑integrated learning, placements or practicum programmes and ability to build industry connections.
• Strong academic leadership and relationship‑building skills.
