Senior Lawyer / Senior Associate / Special Counsel – Insurance Law

About the role

Join McCullough Robertson’s Insurance and Corporate Risk group as a senior legal professional. You will work closely with the partner, manage client relationships and help develop the team while focusing on defending personal injury claims, especially abuse claims.

Key responsibilities

• Act for defendants in personal injury and abuse claims.
• Handle public liability, workers' compensation appeals, property damage, policy interpretation, coverage litigation and general insurance matters.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients across construction, resources, agribusiness, property, not‑for‑profit, technology and infrastructure sectors.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff and contribute to team development.

Required profile

• Senior lawyer, Senior Associate or Special Counsel level with strong technical ability.
• Passion for insurance law and ambition to advance in this field.
• Background in defending personal injury claims; plaintiff experience also considered.

Required skills

• Expertise in insurance law and personal injury defence.
• Ability to interpret insurance policies and manage coverage litigation.
