Senior Laboratory Technician

About the role

We are looking for a safety‑focused Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Concrete & Quarries Laboratory in Baulkham Hills. You will report to the Section Head and Laboratory Manager and play a key role in delivering accurate testing and analysis of construction materials.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct testing of quarry and recycled materials in line with laboratory work instructions, Australian Standards (AS) and Transport for NSW test methods.
• Prepare and analyse test samples, report results accurately and maintain laboratory records in accordance with quality management requirements.
• Perform scheduled calibrations, maintenance and operational checks of laboratory equipment.
• Support NATA accreditation compliance and promote safe work practices.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Previous experience in concrete testing and knowledge of AS 1012 test methods.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering or related discipline (desirable).
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Laboratory testing and sample preparation for concrete and quarry materials.
• Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Use of laboratory information management systems such as QestLab.
• Knowledge of Australian testing standards and NATA accreditation requirements.
