Senior Java Engineer – Sydney (Hybrid)

About the role

We are partnering with one of Australia’s most recognised financial institutions to hire a Senior Java Engineer for their Core team. You will work on greenfield products that serve millions of customers, shaping architecture and delivering high‑performance, low‑latency solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship new features across monolithic and micro‑service architectures.
• Own the full software lifecycle from concept through production deployment.
• Make critical architecture decisions to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Six or more years of hands‑on Java development experience.
• Deep knowledge of Spring Boot and Spring Hibernate, able to make sound technical choices under pressure.
• Proven track record of taking projects from inception to production.
• Strong engineering instincts; banking or finance background is a plus.

What we offer

• Permanent salary $175k–$205k base + super + bonus (AUD, annual).
• Contract rate $900–$1,050 per day (AUD).
• Hybrid working model based in Sydney.
