Senior Internal Legal Consultant (Director Level) – 6‑9 month contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced internal lawyer to join a professional services firm on a 6‑9 month fixed‑term assignment in Sydney. The role is senior/director level and will focus on high‑stakes disputes, regulatory matters, litigation, and whistle‑blower investigations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders across the business.
• Manage and resolve complex disputes and litigation matters.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and oversee regulatory reporting.
• Lead whistle‑blower investigations and advise on related policy matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, policies, and other legal documents.
• Collaborate with external counsel as needed.

Required profile

• 15+ years of legal experience, preferably at director or senior level.
• Demonstrated expertise in disputes, regulation, litigation, and whistle‑blower matters.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior leaders.
