Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

Bendigo Bank is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join its Group Internal Audit (GIA) team. You will lead complex audit engagements, work closely with senior stakeholders and contribute to the evolution of audit methodology across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute comprehensive audit, thematic and regulatory compliance reviews in line with the Strategic Audit Plan.
• Identify risks, assess control effectiveness and develop value‑adding recommendations for management.
• Produce high‑quality audit reports and present findings to senior leaders and Board committees.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with first and second line functions.
• Mentor and support junior internal auditors to foster a high‑performing team culture.

Required profile

• Significant experience in internal audit, preferably within banking, financial services or another highly regulated industry.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and a CA, CPA, CIA or CISA certification (or equivalent).
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities, with confidence to influence at all levels.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment and drive material change.
