Senior Identity & Security Engineer

About the role

SEC Victoria is looking for a Senior Identity & Security Engineer to work across its evolving security landscape, partnering with GRC, Architecture, Application & Cloud Security and Technology teams. The role strengthens identity governance, privileged access and authentication controls, and optimises security across cloud, endpoint, network and SaaS environments. It also involves security operations, detection and response engineering, and senior technical leadership during investigations and incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen identity governance, privileged access and authentication controls
• Optimise security technologies across cloud, endpoint, network and SaaS environments
• Contribute to security operations, detection and response engineering, improving visibility, telemetry and automation
• Provide senior technical leadership during investigations and security incidents
• Translate security risks and requirements into technical controls across Azure, AWS, applications and CI/CD environments

Required profile

• Deep hands-on security engineering experience and leadership in complex enterprise environments
• Comfortable working across identity, cloud and security operations domains
• Proven ability to automate and integrate security capabilities, with strong troubleshooting, stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency or a valid work permit

Required skills

• Identity and access management: joiner/mover/leaver, provisioning and deprovisioning, access reviews, RBAC, privileged access, MFA, IGA and Conditional Access
• Microsoft 365 E5 security: Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint, Intune, Purview and Microsoft Sentinel, plus monitoring, incident response and remediation
• Automation and integration with PowerShell, Python, APIs, Microsoft Graph, KQL and Infrastructure as Code
• Highly desirable: broad identity security, security operations and cloud security experience, including enterprise IGA/PAM and Zero Trust; Azure and AWS security, and regulated or high-assurance environments
