Senior HVAC Drafter

About the role

A leading Tier 1 HVAC company in Australia, with over 50 years of experience in air conditioning, mechanical services, construction and maintenance, is looking for a Senior HVAC Drafter. The role sits within a drafting team on world-class projects for major builders, with high-end work and scope for progression.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed shop drawings within project time constraints and value manage projects where possible, such as reducing duct sizes and shortening duct runs.
• Produce schedules for grilles, dampers and similar items.
• Attend project coordination meetings and play a key role in contractor/subcontractor coordination meetings.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to produce shop drawings, and liaise with site forepersons as required.
• Notify project managers of variations to project documents and coordinate other services where required.
• Coordinate subcontractor services and ensure client satisfaction.
• Maintain good peer-to-peer relationships with colleagues, the site foreman and all department heads, and deliver projects on time.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a mechanical services detailed draftsperson and coordinator.
• Ability to coordinate with other trades.
• Self-motivated, committed to company improvement, able to resolve conflicts professionally and follow up on project issues.
• Good communication at all levels, with internal and external personnel, and a positive, enthusiastic and confident outlook.
• Candidates must currently reside in Australia.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of Revit MEP and Navisworks.
• Ability to produce good quality detailed shop drawings.
