Senior Human Resources Advisor

About the role

Northern Star Mining Services is looking for a Senior HR Advisor to join its Operations Centre in Kalgoorlie, reporting to the HR Manager. You will lead Employee Relations support across 8 underground operations in Western Australia. The position is residential in Kalgoorlie with a relocation package available, or FIFO from Perth; it suits someone with strong generalist HR knowledge and a practical approach to supporting operational managers in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coach the Advisory team in managing a portfolio of 1,200+ employees
• Act as a trusted advisor to managers, giving practical advice and coaching on employee relations, performance, conduct and everyday people matters
• Support and train leaders so they feel confident managing performance
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and ways of working, and coordinate the implementation of agreed improvements

Required profile

• 3-5 years' adviser experience, ideally in the resources industry
• Strong interpersonal skills and a practical approach to supporting operational teams
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, applying sound judgement and delivering consistent, practical advice
• Current Australian "C" class manual driver's licence

Required skills

• Excellent computer literacy, including MS Office Suite and HRIS systems
