Senior Governance, Risk and Compliance Specialist

About the role

The Senior Governance, Risk and Compliance Specialist will support a major government digital transformation initiative, embedding governance, risk, assurance and compliance activities throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance governance frameworks, policies, registers and reporting artefacts.
• Conduct risk assessments and compliance reviews across technology, operational and delivery activities.
• Support internal and external audit, assurance and accreditation activities.
• Partner with project and delivery teams to ensure security, governance and compliance obligations are understood and achieved.
• Provide governance reporting, risk insights and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of risk, assurance and governance maturity across the program.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in governance, risk and compliance within a complex ICT or digital delivery environment.
• Strong understanding of risk management, assurance and governance principles.
• Experience working with, or knowledge of, government security and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and reporting skills.
• Ability to analyse complex risks and provide pragmatic recommendations.

Required skills

• Experience with large‑scale ICT platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud‑enabled services and platforms.
• Familiarity with automated delivery pipelines.
• Understanding of secure government systems.
