Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Aurecon, designing underground solutions that shape future infrastructure. You will lead complex geotechnical projects, mentor junior staff and drive innovative, sustainable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical design across feasibility, concept and detailed phases.
• Apply advanced analysis using PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Rocscience and other tools.
• Work across diverse environments – in‑office, remote and embedded with clients.
• Contribute to winning work through proposals and client engagement.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, building team capability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, practical outcomes.
• Occasionally attend site to support project delivery.

Required profile

• 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• RPEQ certification.
• Strong experience with finite‑element modelling and geotechnical software.
• Defence clearance (or ability to obtain).
• Willingness to attend site as required.
• Proven ability to deliver high‑quality designs and reports.
• Confidence engaging with clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborative mindset and passion for mentoring.
• Involvement in industry bodies such as AGS (desirable).
