Senior Frontend Software Engineer

About the role

Atlassian is looking for experienced frontend engineers to join its Product and Platform teams. You will help shape the Atlassian Cloud Platform by designing, building and maintaining micro-services, software libraries, tools and applications that power Atlassian Cloud. The work covers greenfield projects and technologies rather than product maintenance, and involves building always-on, low-latency, high-concurrency systems that scale for millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain product and platform services and the infrastructure behind Atlassian Cloud.
• Contribute to micro-services and systems that serve millions of users.
• Use programming expertise and knowledge of modern web architectures and distributed systems to design, implement, integrate, tune and resolve issues in new services, libraries, tools and applications.
• Work with developers and designers to deliver simple, beautiful and consistent user experiences.

Required profile

• Strong, well-rounded experience with deep knowledge of JavaScript (ReactJS).
• Interest in open source and learning new technologies.
• Ability to write performant, decoupled, testable and maintainable code.
• Enjoys sharing knowledge and collaborating with teammates.
• Preferred: writing components in plain JavaScript/TypeScript, familiarity with ES6, some public cloud experience (AWS, GAE, Azure), and understanding of web, SOA and micro-services patterns.
