Senior Finance Manager

About the role

The Senior Finance Manager will report to the CFO (or CEO) and lead the organisation's financial operations, planning, reporting and compliance. The role combines strong technical accounting expertise with commercial acumen, supporting strategic growth initiatives across engineering, operations and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close, preparing management accounts, board reports and performance analysis.
• Drive annual budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning and cash‑flow forecasting, including working capital and treasury management.
• Oversee project finance for engineering and manufacturing, reviewing costing, WIP, revenue recognition and profitability.
• Partner with project managers to monitor financial risks and support commercial decisions through modelling and analysis.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, IFRS, tax obligations and coordinate internal and external audits.
• Lead ERP optimisation, finance transformation projects and develop dashboards for better business visibility.
• Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business.
• CPA or CA qualification.
• 8–12+ years of progressive finance experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, cost management and manufacturing finance.
• Knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation and regulatory requirements.
