Senior Finance Manager (Contract, Sydney CBD)

About the role

Robert Half is recruiting, on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation, an experienced Senior Finance Manager for a contract position based in Sydney CBD. The role suits a commercially minded finance leader who wants to own financial reporting, business partnering, budgeting and forecasting, and lead a finance team. It reports to the Finance Director/CFO and involves working closely with senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process
• Own monthly management reporting and board reporting packs
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning
• Provide variance analysis and financial performance reporting
• Lead cash flow forecasting and working capital management
• Drive business partnering with operational and executive stakeholders
• Mentor and manage finance team members
• Oversee statutory reporting, tax compliance, BAS and GST obligations
• Manage internal and external audit processes
• Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and internal controls
• Drive finance transformation and support business projects and commercial analysis

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification
• Experience in Finance Manager, Senior Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar roles
• Experience leading and developing finance teams
• Strong stakeholder management and business partnering ability
• Technical accounting knowledge and understanding of compliance requirements
• Commercially focused, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; immediate or short-notice availability highly regarded
