Senior Finance Business Partner

About the role

A recruitment consultant is recruiting, on behalf of an NSW Government organisation, a Senior Finance Business Partner for an initial 6-month contract, with a strong likelihood of transition to a permanent position. The role is highly visible and involves working closely with operational and executive stakeholders, providing strategic financial support and acting as a trusted advisor beyond traditional reporting. It sits in the discipline of Commercial Accounting & Finance.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior stakeholders to provide financial and commercial support.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Deliver analysis and insights that support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare financial models, scenario analysis and business case evaluations.
• Monitor performance against budgets and identify risks and opportunities.
• Present financial information clearly to finance and non-finance audiences.
• Support financial strategy and continuous improvement, and improve reporting, planning and analytical processes.

Required profile

• Commercially minded finance professional who enjoys building relationships and influencing decision-makers.
• Experience in finance business partnering, FP&A, commercial finance, management accounting or corporate finance.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders in a complex organisation.
• CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.

• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Confidence to challenge constructively and influence outcomes.
