Senior Electrical Engineer – Aviation

About the role

Aurecon is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Aviation Centre of Excellence in Melbourne. The role focuses on delivering major airside electrical infrastructure projects for civil and defence airports across Australia and the Asia‑Pacific region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of airport electrical infrastructure projects.
• Produce Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) designs for runway, taxiway, approach and apron floodlighting.
• Develop feasibility studies, concept designs and detailed design documentation.
• Provide technical leadership and review engineering calculations, specifications and documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with MOS Part 139, ICAO Annex 14 and relevant Australian Standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary airport planning and engineering teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and build strong client relationships.

Required profile

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in Aeronautical Ground Lighting design.
• Strong understanding of airport electrical infrastructure and airside systems.
• Experience with high‑voltage, low‑voltage, CCR and control systems design.
• Knowledge of MOS Part 139, ICAO standards and Australian compliance requirements.
• Proven experience delivering projects in consulting, contractor, airport or aviation environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Passion for technical excellence and mentoring.
