Senior Economic Development Officer

About the role

The City of Rockingham, a fast-growing local government 40 km south of the Perth CBD, is recruiting a Senior Economic Development Officer. You will implement key actions from the City's Economic Development Strategy and promote economic development, investment and business opportunities within the City. The position is permanent, full-time (average of 38 hours per week), based in Rockingham, WA, and is re-advertised.

Key responsibilities

• Implement key actions from the City's Economic Development Strategy
• Promote economic development, investment and business opportunities within the City
• Build relationships with existing businesses
• Market commercial and industrial opportunities to potential businesses and encourage investment in the region
• Analyse economic data and statistics to identify and develop growth opportunities

Required profile

• Economic and/or commercial property development experience in the private or public sector
• Previous experience in marketing for investment attraction
• Comprehensive understanding of economic development principles, including current issues and trends, preferably in the Rockingham region
• Broad knowledge of businesses and industries in the Rockingham region

Required skills

• Well-developed understanding of modern marketing tactics and trends, with reference to economic development and investment attraction
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with prospective investors and promote the City

• Gross annual salary of $111,967 - $119,224
• 12% superannuation, with the option to co-contribute up to a matching 5%
