Senior Drainage Engineer

About the role

KBR is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to join its Sydney team, delivering major infrastructure projects across Australia with a focus on transport, roads, rail and water initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead drainage, hydrology and hydraulic design activities across infrastructure projects.
• Design stormwater, drainage, pipeline and water infrastructure solutions.
• Support delivery of road, rail and water projects from planning through detailed design.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to engineers and designers.
• Review project deliverables for technical excellence and compliance.
• Develop client relationships and contribute to business development.
• Assist with bids, proposals and project planning activities.
• Manage project priorities, budgets and delivery commitments with project leaders.

Required profile

• Established experience in civil, drainage or water infrastructure engineering within a consulting environment.
• Demonstrated experience in drainage, hydrology, hydraulics, pipelines or water infrastructure design.
• Experience delivering transport and infrastructure projects, particularly roads and rail.
• Strong technical design and problem‑solving capability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status (CPEng) or ability to obtain accreditation.
