Senior Designer

About the role

UDEC is seeking an experienced Senior Designer to strengthen its design capability in Queensland and Victoria. The role involves delivering high‑quality civil design packages for major water, wastewater and utility infrastructure projects across Australia, while mentoring junior designers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead civil design delivery for complex infrastructure projects.
• Create detailed 3D models and construction drawings using 12D Model and AutoCAD.
• Develop and maintain 12D customisation, templates and drafting standards.
• Provide technical mentorship and quality‑assurance reviews for junior staff.
• Identify project scope and programme requirements and ensure delivery within agreed timeframes.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients and utility authorities to obtain technical approvals.
• Adhere to UDEC Quality Management System and CAD requirements.

Required profile

• 8+ years of civil design experience within an Australian consultancy.
• Strong understanding of water authority standards and guidelines.
• Experience managing models, tracking changes and working with BIM teams.
• Tertiary qualification in civil engineering or equivalent.

Required skills

• Expert level proficiency in 12D Model.
• Proficient use of AutoCAD.
• Experience with Synergy for software customisation and script authoring.
