Senior Design Engineer - Fixed Wireless Networks

About the role

nbn, Australia's largest digital infrastructure provider, is looking for a Senior Design Engineer for its Fixed Wireless Networks team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Lead Design Engineer, you will help design, integrate, validate and deploy fixed wireless network capabilities across access, backhaul and core domains in an Agile delivery environment. The role is permanent and full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Act as subject matter expert for routing and switching network capability within the wireless network
• Contribute to the end-to-end delivery of the wireless access platform, ensuring Mobile Packet Backbone Network components (signalling switch, signalling router and firewall) are scalable, cost-effective and performant
• Take part in design and test activities by providing engineering work breakdowns
• Develop high-level and detailed designs, configurations and deliverables to maintain and improve fixed wireless networks
• Support PI planning workshops, daily stand-ups, demos, system integration tests, first-time deployments and operational handovers
• Work with internal and external partners to size EPICs and solve impediments during delivery
• Mentor the team, promote cross-skilling and guide colleagues on design and testing

Required profile

• Strong experience in carrier-grade telecommunications networks, covering routing and switching, firewall implementation, network design and integration testing
• Experience delivering large-scale fixed wireless deployments and complex network migrations
• Stakeholder management and communication skills, with a proactive, autonomous approach in fast-paced environments
• Full working rights in Australia
