Senior Cyber Threat Security Analyst

About the role

Lumen is seeking an experienced Threat Hunter to join its Security Operations team. The role focuses on proactive threat hunting, incident investigation, and cyber threat intelligence to protect customer environments across endpoints, networks, and cloud.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct proactive threat hunting using frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, PEAK, TAHITI, THMM and the Diamond Model.
• Develop and maintain custom scripts and tools to automate hunting processes, including YARA rules and IOC analysis.
• Analyze security logs, network traffic, and endpoint data to detect malicious activity and produce detailed incident reports.
• Collaborate with incident response, vulnerability management, and other security teams to share intelligence and coordinate actions.
• Develop, manage, and disseminate cyber threat intelligence, mapping findings to ATT&CK techniques and presenting to technical and executive audiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 3+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 1‑2 years focused on threat hunting.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR platforms, and data pipelines.
• Knowledge of operating systems: Windows, Linux, macOS.
• Familiarity with threat hunting methodologies, YARA rules, IOC analysis, and behavioral analysis.
• Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, PEAK, TAHITI, THMM, and Diamond Model frameworks.
