Senior Cost Manager (Quantity Surveyor)

About the role

AECOM's Program, Cost Consultancy team is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join its Sydney-based team. The role provides quantity surveying and cost management services on some of NSW's and Australia's largest and most iconic infrastructure projects, covering vertical and horizontal works.

Key responsibilities

• Provide cost planning and estimating in the design phase, measure quantities from design drawings, forecast cash flow, manage costs during construction, give capital cost advice and support life-cycle costing.
• Collaborate with AECOM's quantity surveyors and multi-disciplinary engineers locally and nationally on a wide range of projects depending on experience.
• Deliver high-quality technical advice to clients and mentor and guide junior team members.

Required profile

• Experience as a Senior QS, ideally in a consulting environment, with knowledge of Australian standards in Building Services, MEP Infrastructure, Mission Critical Facilities, Data Centres, Healthcare, Energy Infrastructure and complex engineering projects.
• Demonstrated experience in cost planning, estimating, procurement, construction phase cost management and client-facing advisory services.
• Relevant tertiary education alongside AIQS, RICS or a recognised equivalent.
• Commitment to learning and a willingness to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven team.

Required skills

• Managing project costs, budgets and commercial outcomes, ideally in a client-facing role.
• Full MS Office suite and medium to high level knowledge of CostX.
