Senior Contracted Clinician - National Locum

About the role

Bupa ADF Health Services is recruiting a Senior Contracted Clinician Locum Relief to provide backfill support for its health centres across a state or nationwide, keeping operations running during planned leave. The role suits a clinician focused on mentorship, clinical leadership and continuous improvement, with exposure to many health centres and clinics and changing patient cohorts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide information, advice and recommendations on medical issues and specialist services to the Health Centre manager
• Handle general practice consultations, referrals, health screenings and liaise with allied health professionals
• Deliver occupational health services and preventative health care
• Take part in quality and governance improvement, giving expert advice on clinical incidents, complaints management and performance management
• Advise on workforce needs, including staffing levels and supervision of clinical staff
• Run team meetings and staff training, and manage service delivery against benchmarks and clinical governance KPIs

Required profile

• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a baseline security clearance from the Defence security and vetting service
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work with clinical and non-clinical colleagues and with legislative frameworks and compliance
• Strong management skills, including leadership, conflict resolution and an understanding of medical ethics and medico-legal issues
• Commitment to mentoring and growing internal talent
• Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a medical practitioner in Australia with AHPRA
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or vocational registration
• Postgraduate qualification in health management (Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Master's, PhD or Doctorate) or commitment to working toward one; Bupa supports fees
