Senior Consultant – Private Tax & Advisory

About the role

Horizon Nexus Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join its Private team. You will deliver high‑quality tax, accounting and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of business and high‑net‑worth clients, working closely with senior leaders in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare income tax reconciliations, returns, activity statements and other compliance obligations for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
• Assist in the preparation of special‑purpose financial reports and contribute to general‑purpose and large‑entity financial statements.
• Provide technical support across corporate tax, capital gains tax, Division 7A and trust taxation.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and tailored advice.
• Support clients with compliance and broader business advisory requirements.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay up‑to‑date with taxation legislation, accounting standards and industry developments.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a medium to large Australian Chartered Accounting firm.
• Strong exposure to tax and business services for business and high‑net‑worth clients.
• Solid technical knowledge of taxation and accounting matters.
• Proactive, motivated attitude with ability to work hands‑on in a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail.
• CA qualified or nearing completion of CA studies.

Required skills

• Tax compliance (income tax returns, activity statements, reconciliations).
• Corporate tax, capital gains tax, Division 7A, trust taxation.
• Financial reporting across multiple entity structures.
• Preparation of special‑purpose financial reports.
