Director, Accounting Advisory

About the role

FTI Consulting is seeking a Director for its Accounting Advisory Services practice in Melbourne. You will lead client engagements, conduct complex accounting analysis, and present findings in written reports while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse client matters, define problems and design solutions that balance reporting, compliance and commercial objectives.
• Apply detailed knowledge of IFRS and other accounting pronouncements to client engagements.
• Review contracts and source additional information needed for analysis.
• Draft client reports and presentations outlining scope, methodology and findings.
• Supervise and coach junior team members throughout project lifecycles.
• Support senior members with business development activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• 5‑8 years of professional accounting experience, including audit or assurance work.
• Strong analytical, process‑analysis and report‑writing skills.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and work independently.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS and other accounting standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
