Senior Consultant - IT Audit (Mid Market & Private)

About the role

KPMG Australia's Mid-Market & Private Audit division is growing its IT Audit practice to evaluate audit clients' IT control environments and meet rising demand for IT controls in financial reporting. This Senior Consultant position sits in the IT Audit team, which is a national practice supporting clients across Australia, and is based in Wollongong.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Technology Assurance and advisory projects such as IT external audit, SOC 1/SOC 2 assurance and post implementation reviews.
• Develop, coach and mentor team members, giving them stretch assignments to build their capability.
• Provide technical knowledge, direction and training to engagement team members.
• Support IT Audit managers in project management of engagements and prepare clear, concise reports for IT management and CIOs.

Required profile

• 3 to 4 years of experience in IT external audit engagements supporting financial statement audits; preference for candidates with IT audit experience gained in a Big Four firm.
• Strong knowledge of technology risk and controls.
• Tertiary qualification in a related field (e.g. Accounting, Information Systems, Commerce) or CA or CISA equivalent, or ability to obtain a CISA.

• Able to explain complex concepts clearly in writing and verbally.
• Resilient in a fast-paced environment, with attention to accuracy and deadlines.
