Relationship Manager, NSW

About the role

The Relationship Manager will manage and grow a portfolio of Diversified Industries customers for ANZ's Business & Private Bank in Wollongong. You will be responsible for acquiring new customers, cross‑selling, and generating referrals while delivering tailored banking solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Act in the best interest of customers with a customer‑centric approach.
• Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of each client’s business and financial needs.
• Provide appropriate banking solutions and collaborate with product partners to design and execute deals.
• Build and maintain external networks, focusing on origination and the circle of influence.
• Structure deals together with specialist teams and manage credit risk across the portfolio.
• Drive new‑to‑bank business and grow whole‑of‑customer relationships.
• Exercise relationship credit approval discretion where appropriate.
• Coach and develop an Assistant Manager direct report.

Required profile

• Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and drive mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Domain expertise to support complex customers and deliver tailored solutions.
• Experience assessing and managing credit risk in line with policy.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen and critical thinking for long‑term value creation.
• Ability to identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities.
• Effective portfolio management, prioritisation, and compliance with regulatory environments.
