Senior Consultant - CFO Advisory (Financial Accounting)

About the role

EY's Financial Accounting Advisory Services (CFO advisory) practice works with middle-market clients and some of the world's largest companies on practical, commercially sound accounting solutions, reliable financial statements and financial processes. As a Senior Consultant you will combine commercial experience with financial accounting expertise to support new policies, business cases and capital infrastructure projects, financial reporting, process improvement, budgeting, costing, major transactions and financial due diligence, domestically and internationally. The role is based in Melbourne or Perth and may be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and take part in various engagements
• Prepare high-quality deliverables tailored to client needs
• Oversee workstreams and small engagements and review work performed
• Understand clients' industries, their performance drivers, trends and new technical and industry developments
• Develop client insights, recommendations and options through automation, digitisation and improvement of financial processes

Required profile

• CA or equivalent professional qualification and at least 3 years' relevant experience
• Degree in accounting or another appropriate academic major
• Ability to build strong client relationships and cross-service line networks
• High attention to detail and a 'can-do' attitude

Required skills

• Project management skills with a proven ability to execute under pressure
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/AASB) and understanding of finance function processes
