Senior Construction Manager

About the role

KCB is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to join its multidisciplinary team in Brisbane. The role acts as the on‑site engineering representative, providing technical leadership, construction oversight, quality assurance and liaison between client, contractor and design team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide site‑based construction supervision and technical leadership for mining, tailings and mine infrastructure projects.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and contract requirements.
• Oversee quality assurance and control processes, including inspections, testing and non‑conformance management.
• Verify earthworks, embankments, drainage works, geosynthetics and related civil infrastructure are built to project requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure environmental compliance across site activities.
• Act as the primary technical liaison between clients, contractors and design teams.
• Participate in construction meetings and provide progress, quality and performance reporting.

Required profile

• Approximately 10+ years of civil engineering or construction experience with significant site‑based supervision.
• Strong background delivering mining, tailings, water, geotechnical, earthworks or civil infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to lead site teams and manage multiple stakeholders in complex environments.
• Commitment to safety, quality and successful project outcomes.

Required skills

• Civil engineering and construction management expertise.
• Earthworks specifications, compaction control and quality assurance.
• Contractor management and construction safety practices.
• Experience with tailings storage facilities, dam embankments and large‑scale earthworks.
