Senior Community and Stakeholder Relations Advisor - Water Infrastructure

About the role

The successful candidate will lead community engagement for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, working on‑site in Elwood and supporting a framework office in Canterbury. This role involves developing communication plans, managing stakeholder issues and building trusted relationships with local communities and construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement engagement and communication plans that address construction impacts and community needs.
• Identify stakeholder issues and risks, advising delivery teams on appropriate responses.
• Prepare notices, presentations, web and social media updates, and formal correspondence.
• Coordinate resident discussions, information sessions and respond to project enquiries.
• Support milestone events and community initiatives in partnership with clients and construction teams.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification or certificate in communications, public relations, journalism or stakeholder engagement, or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years of strategic communications advice and services, preferably in community engagement or stakeholder relations.
• Experience in construction‑project or specialist engagement leadership is highly regarded.

Required skills

• IAP2 certification.
• Demonstrated ability to lead engagement on construction‑related projects.
