Senior Claims Advisor

About the role

Marsh is seeking a Senior Claims Advisor to join its Faith & Education Claims Advisory team in Sydney. This hybrid position requires office attendance at least three days a week and involves providing end‑to‑end claims advisory and advocacy support for professional standards and safeguarding‑related matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage professional standards and safeguarding claims, escalating complex matters as needed.
• Provide trauma‑informed support, communicating sensitively with vulnerable stakeholders.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, legal advisers, investigators and support providers.
• Accurately record incident and claim data in Clearsight and prepare routine correspondence.
• Drive claims strategy, assist with liability and quantum considerations, and support settlement pathways.
• Advocate for clients by preparing clear commercial and technical responses to insurer positions.
• Contribute claims insights and de‑identified trend data for new business opportunities.
• Participate in client and prospect meetings to support claims reviews and safeguarding risk discussions.

Required profile

• High attention to detail and accuracy when handling sensitive information.
• Well‑developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied portfolio.
• Professional judgement and discretion in handling abuse matters within governance frameworks.

Required skills

• Experience in claims management or advisory within professional indemnity, liability, accident & health or similar lines.
• Ability to draft clear, respectful and technically sound insurer correspondence and client updates.
• Client‑focused, calm and empathetic approach with strong written communication skills.
