Senior Category Manager, Equipment Team (MHE, Storage & Robotics)

About the role

Amazon Australia is looking for a senior specialist in procurement for its Fulfillment Centers (FC) and Delivery Stations (DS). The role works with each functional leader to coordinate procurement goals with internal and external stakeholders and achieve manageable targets, supporting Amazon's strength in rapid delivery speed. It covers equipment design and installation, budgeting, ordering, cost analysis and supplier development.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in equipment design and installation for existing and new FC/DS sites, and create budgets, orders and schedules
• Manage cost structures, run cost reduction activities, validate estimates and carry out VA/VE activities
• Develop, execute and continuously improve procurement strategies for MHE, storage and robotics
• For each launch project or task: manage budget creation, supplier selection, RFQ/RFP preparation, price negotiation, contracting, ordering, delivery schedules, cost analysis, cost reduction, VA/VE and acceptance inspection
• Build a supplier management system with GPO and other Global Teams, evaluate suppliers and develop new ones
• Work with domestic and international suppliers to secure appropriate-cost procurement, expand production capacity, improve flexibility and manage risk
• Leverage global purchasing scale advantages through best practices and superior suppliers from each region

Required profile

• Fluent speaking, writing and reading in English, able to take direction in English
• 10+ years of experience in procurement or project management (project procurement experience preferred)
• Preferred: track record of leading cost reduction initiatives for equipment, leading internal and external projects, writing documents for top management, supplier development and improvement
