Senior Buyer – Retail Category Management

About the role

Star Pharmacy Group is looking for an experienced Senior Retail Buyer to own product categories across its national pharmacy network. You will drive supplier negotiations, manage catalogue cycles and be accountable for sales, margin and stock performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual department plans, conduct data‑driven range reviews and manage product lifecycles from launch to deletion.
• Lead supplier and trading negotiations on terms, rebates, cost prices and promotional funding to maximise ROI.
• Manage monthly catalogue campaigns, ensuring TGA compliance and timely store allocations.
• Analyse sales reports and BI tools to track market trends, monitor competitor pricing and present actionable category recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing, Store Operations and other Support Office teams to drive overall success.

Required profile

• 5+ years of buying or category management experience, preferably in Pharmacy, Health, FMCG or Grocery.
• Strong analytical mindset with the confidence to make fast, informed decisions independently.
• Excellent communication skills and a team‑first, adaptable attitude.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency for large‑dataset analysis and allocation planning.
• Experience using Business Intelligence (BI) tools to generate insights and support decision‑making.
