Senior Buyer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Buyer to join our collaborative Supply Chain Operations team at the Sydney Distribution Centre. Two full‑time fixed‑term positions (12‑month and 18‑month contracts) are available, offering a competitive ASU Level 9 salary package and employee travel benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end‑to‑end purchasing functions, securing all required documentation for aircraft and non‑aircraft materials.
• Source and purchase items based on actual and forecasted demand, ensuring timely delivery to meet customer expectations.
• Monitor material receipt, manage shelf life, unit cost, storage requirements and usage locations.
• Provide oversight and direction to junior buyers, guaranteeing purchase orders meet agreed delivery dates.
• Support the Supply Chain in achieving Part Availability Service Levels and total cost of ownership (TCO) outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a purchasing function or similar role.
• Experience establishing and managing supplier contracts, agreements and relationships.
• Solid understanding of Supply Chain operations and customer‑focused mindset.
• Familiarity with the SUPPLY system and strong analytical/problem‑solving abilities.
• High self‑motivation, ability to work independently and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail and strong Excel proficiency.
