About the role
SMEC is seeking a Senior Associate Engineer to lead the design and delivery of major road and highway projects across Queensland. You will work on high‑impact transport infrastructure, mentor emerging engineers, and help grow the Gold Coast business.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the design and delivery of major roads and highways projects across Queensland.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and project teams.
- Manage project performance, scope, budgets, and programme delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for repeat and new business.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and strategic growth across the region.
- Oversee the preparation and review of project documentation and technical deliverables.
Required profile
- Senior‑level civil engineering experience in road and highway projects.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client expectations.
- Demonstrated mentorship and technical leadership skills.
- Strong communication and client‑engagement capabilities.
