Senior Associate – Breach Management Oversight

About the role

As a Senior Associate in Breach Management – Oversight you will provide independent second‑line oversight of breach identification, assessment and regulatory reporting across ANZ. You will ensure reportable situations are identified, escalated and lodged accurately and within required timeframes while supporting consistent breach management practices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight of breach management practices across ANZ.
• Review and challenge breach assessments to support appropriate classification, escalation and recording.
• Assess events against reportable breach thresholds, including ASIC requirements.
• Prepare and coordinate timely, accurate breach reports to regulators.
• Monitor adherence to reporting timeframes and escalation protocols.
• Support maintenance and enhancement of breach management frameworks, policies and procedures.
• Perform quality assurance and thematic reviews to identify trends, systemic issues and control weaknesses.
• Provide guidance and coaching on breach management practices and complex regulatory matters.

Required profile

• Extensive understanding of breach management methodologies and practices.
• Experience with banking products and processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with close attention to detail.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Critical thinking, sound judgement and confidence to question and influence constructively.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and at least five years’ financial services experience in legal, compliance or audit.
• Knowledge of breach management platforms and risk toolkits is advantageous.
