Senior Architectural Heritage Specialist (Expression of Interest)

About the role

Urbis is seeking senior heritage professionals to join its national Architectural Heritage team. The role offers the chance to lead conservation and adaptive‑reuse projects across Australia, working from our Perth, Sydney or Brisbane offices while collaborating with a multidisciplinary national team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and practical leadership on heritage matters, including documentation, assessments and significance studies.
• Manage heritage projects from feasibility through to practical completion, delivering Conservation Management Plans and Heritage Impact Statements.
• Oversee architectural conservation supervision and, where required, act as an expert witness.
• Mentor and support junior and mid‑level staff to ensure high‑quality heritage reporting.
• Contribute to national heritage initiatives and help grow the practice.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in heritage architecture, building conservation and statutory heritage planning.
• Strong knowledge of Australian national heritage frameworks and legislation.
• Proven ability to deliver complex, multidisciplinary projects and to lead high‑performing teams.
• Passion for progressive conservation and adaptive reuse of built heritage.
