Senior Architect

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Architect to join our growing Melbourne studio and lead design on one of Victoria’s most significant transport infrastructure programmes. The role offers full ownership of architectural design from concept through to technical delivery, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architectural design on high‑profile transport projects, shaping building form, function and integration with surrounding communities.
• Act as the primary design lead, maintaining design intent and quality across all project stages.
• Manage client relationships, present proposals, run workshops and incorporate feedback.
• Coordinate with engineers, planners, transport authorities and specialist consultants to resolve complex technical and design challenges.
• Mentor and guide a team of architects and graduates, setting expectations and supporting development.
• Contribute to design reviews, quality assurance processes and approval pathways.
• Support business development activities, including bid preparation and client presentations.
• Participate in studio life, sharing knowledge and helping shape the practice’s design culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading architectural design on major projects from concept to delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to act as primary design lead while maintaining design quality.
• Strong client‑facing skills with experience presenting proposals and facilitating workshops.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and resolving technical challenges.
• Track record of mentoring junior staff and contributing to studio culture.
• Willingness to engage in business development and studio initiatives.
